Safety Standby is a specialist contractor with national reach. Our teams operate all across the UK providing safety standby cover and emergency response cover to organisations with personnel deployed on safety critical tasks.

It is not always practical to train in-house staff as rescue personnel. Knowing the need for having professionally trained emergency responders on site, Safety Standby Services can provide a team of individuals for on-site emergency response.

Our Standby Rescue Teams will provide a cost saving alternative to maintaining equipment and personnel for an onsite team. Our Standby Rescue Teams provide emergency rescue and retrieval solutions to recover stranded or injured personnel. Our teams provide all the necessary personal protective equipment and medical trauma kits for potential rescue from specific work site hazards, giving you peace of mind and certainty before you commit your personnel or contractors to hazardous area operations.

What we do

Working near water safety standby cover. We have a range of safety and rescue boats supplied complete with highly trained emergency rescue crews.

Working at height safety standby cover. Our crews provide rescue or access solutions for personnel exposed to the risk of falls from height.

Confined space safety standby cover. Emergency rescue cover for confined space operations.

Remote area working. We provide emergency response for personnel working in remote or challenging areas.

Emergency response project management. We can manage, audit and develop methods and safe systems of work ensuring your project is fully compliant with all relevant legislation and UK industry best practice.

Specialist safety and rescue training. We train many of the UK's leading agencies and organisations. We are able to tailor traditional HSE training to your particular industry and specific hazards, such as water safety, working at height, first aid, manual handling, H&S management etc.

Remote area access. We have an extensive range of specialist equipment supported by a comprehensive range of welfare assets. When the road ends, we can get you there and support you in the field until your task is finished.

Our Pedigree

We are the national training contractor to multiple DEFRA agencies including the Environment Agency.

We are a national contractor to Network Rail in support of infrastructure inspections over water.

We are trainers for HSE First Aid courses, Rescue 3 scheme, Mountain Leader Training Scheme, RYA powerboat scheme.

We work as an operational support contractor to many UK Police and Fire and Rescue Services.
